How to Enable Two Antenna Mode on your Peplink router (watch video):

Disclaimer: The video above pertains to Peplink models that end in 5GH. Unfortunately, 2 Antenna Mode is not compatible with models that end in 5GN (like the Max BR2 5G).

Connecting to 2 antennas without Two Antenna Mode:

If you have a Peplink model that ends in 5GN, we have a workaround for how you can make this work. Please note that your router will work significantly better if you pair it with an antenna that has as many cables as your router has ports, but this configuration will likely be better than just using paddle antennas in most situations:

  1. Antennas should be connected to router ports A and D, with ports B and C left disconnected.
  2. The Cellular modem will not be able to use LTE bands B42/43/48/B46 or NR5G bands n70/n48/n77/n78/n79 of NR5G.
  3. If you want to utilize any of the above bands, you can try using the paddle antennas in ports B and C. Our contact at Peplink told us that they cannot guarantee that using the two paddle antennas will definitely unlock those bands for use, but that it may be possible.

Note #2: There is a hardware component issue that prevents these 5GN devices from utilizing 2 Antenna Mode. Peplink is currently working with the Module Manufactorure to solve this problem, but as of the writing of this article the problem has not yet been solved.

Note: If you try the 3rd step with the paddle antennas and it doesn't work, you'll want to revert back to using just those two cabled antennas in ports A and D, removing the paddle antennas.

FYI: There is a hardware component issue that prevents these 5GN devices from utilizing 2 antenna mode. Peplink is currently working with a Module Manufacturer to solve this problem, but as of the writing of this article the problem has not yet been solved.
