Many customers are interested in adding wired devices to their setup including desktop computers, laptop computers, security cameras, and other devices. In this article, we provide a sample diagram of how to connect external devices with a network switch. In this example, we show an 8 port PoE switch available on MobileMustHave.com. A 5 port (or larger) switch would be connected in the same fashion. The port numbers do not matter and you can connect the ethernet cables to any port on the network switch providing it is an unmanaged switch like the one used in the example.
Note: Always turn off the power and consult an electrician for proper wiring. Proceed at your own risk and always fuse your power connections.
Local devices can connect to your Pepwave via the LAN port on the Pepwave. Most Pepwave's have only 1-3 LAN ports. You can connect additional devices by adding a network switch such as the one in this diagram.
Pepwave WAN Devices
You can also add additional Internet sources to your setup via the Pepwave WAN port as shown in the diagram above. This is commonly used for connecting a Starlink or second Pepwave router for additional connectivity options. Connect the two devices as shown in the above diagram. If you are connecting multiple WAN devices consider utilizing SpeedFusion WAN bonding. Our SpeedFusion setup guide is available below.
