Summary
If you are interested in using your Pepwave modem on MMH Wireless P800 Cellular Data Plan, some settings may need to be changed to have the modem negotiate with these networks. An APN is like a username and must be updated to tell the carrier what network you should be on. Failing to update this will result in you not being able to connect. You must update these APN settings for your data plan to connect and function properly.
Entering the APN
Navigate to the Dashboard tab and select the cellular details button of the modem you wish to add this data plan to.
Scroll down Cellular Settings, select Custom under Operator Settings. Make sure to select the proper SLOT A or B based on where your MMH P800 sim card is located. Change the section corresponding with the correct sim card.
This will enable the APN box where you can enter the APN information. For the MMH P800 Wireless plan the APN you need to enter "b2b.static" entered without the quotes as shown in the image below.
LTE/3G
As shown in the screenshot above. We recommend also setting the LTE/3G network selection box to LTE as the 3G networks are being disabled by carriers as of February 2022. Not all firmware version have this option but if you see it go ahead and set as show above.
Setting TTL
The P800 operates on legacy data plans that are no longer sold. For select routers, included CAT 20 and 5G devices certain connectivity issues are avoided including throttling in certain locations by setting a custom TTL. Setting your TTL values is easy. Follow the screenshots below to set your TTL value to 64.
Scroll down to the TTL section of your cellular details page and enter 64 as shown in the below screenshot. This is right below the section you set the APN in the previous section.
(Optional) Bandwidth Allowance Monitoring
This step is optional, but if you would also like to set up bandwidth monitoring to automatically shut off your plan before you go over your usage, you can use the screenshot above as guidance. The data will reset on the 1st of each month regardless of your billing date. We suggest setting a limit of 750 so you know you have 50GB left of emergency data left if you hit the limit without knowing.
