Summary

If you are interested in using your Pepwave modem on Sprint Wireless, some settings may need to be changed to have the modem negotiate with these networks. Typically selecting "sprint" or leaving your modem on "auto" under carrier selection will allow the unit to connect however manually setting the APN may help if you are experiencing issues connecting. This article will show you how to make these changes. 


Verifying Data Plan Compatibility


Before getting started is important to verify your data plan is compatible with a Peplink data only device. Plans designed to be used in phones or tablets are not compatible with data only devices. 


Navigate to the Dashboard Tab and select the cellular details button of modem you wish to add to your Sprint Account. 

Click the cellular details button of the cellular modem you wish to change


Entering the Custom APN

To enter the custom APN into your modem scroll down Cellular Settings. Select Custom under Operator Settings. Note the below screenshot has the SPRINT sim in SLOT B, please update settings for the correct slot you have your SPRINT sim card inserted in. Make sure to select the correct SIM card slot under "SIM Card" as well. 


This will enable the APN box where you can enter the APN information. For Sprint Wireless the APN is typically "r.ispsn" entered without the quotes as shown in the image above  If you have a carrier other than Sprint you must use the APN setting for that carrier.
